In December 2025, news got around that the beloved Tupelo Hardware was closing its Main Street location after 100 years in business. The same building, same family-owned business is famous for being where Elvis Presley got his first guitar. We showed up to film its last days open as a functioning hardware story, and they were gracious enough to let us film for a couple of days. We wanted to capture the full picture of the business and history of the building beyond Elvis as well as update the community on upcoming plans for both the hardware business and the building - spoiler alert, it is a happy ending for both. This story also served as the launch of our new platform “Porch Step” where we are creating original, Mississippi mini-documentaries, meant to be deliberately more immersive and unpolished in the best way.
